Medical Club AR Eye Disease Simulation Workshop
Date: 21/04/2026
In collaboration with HKU Ophthalmology, our school's Medical Club successfully organized an AR Eye Diseases Simulation Workshop on 21 April 2026 (Tuesday) at the Chemistry Laboratory. The activity was open to Form 3 to Form 5 students, with particular benefits for high-achieving students with strong interests in science and medicine.
The workshop aimed to deepen students' advanced Biology knowledge through augmented reality (AR) while fostering empathy for patients and providing experiential exposure to medical practice. Students participated in immersive first-person AR simulations of conditions including cataract, age-related macular degeneration, and colour blindness. Guided explanations helped students link classroom concepts to real-world clinical applications and better understand patients' daily challenges.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of applying learning beyond the classroom. By reflecting on how medical knowledge can serve the community, students strengthened both their scientific understanding and their sense of compassion—reinforcing the Medical Club's commitment to nurturing knowledgeable and caring future healthcare professionals.
