Once Upon A Book Storytelling Competition First Prize

On 30 April, our students, Cadence Wong from 5D and Lam Shenice from 2Pe, proudly represented the school at the Once Upon A Book Storytelling Competition 2025/26, held at the Education Bureau Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre. Prior to the live event, Cadence and Shenice submitted a storytelling video for the preliminary round, through which they were shortlisted from more than 20 secondary schools in Hong Kong.

Organised by the Native-speaking English Teacher Section, Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau, the live competition brought together the top finalists from six secondary schools. Among this distinguished group, Cadence and Shenice stood out with their imaginative retelling of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, earning the First Prize in the Key Stage 4 category. Their originality, expressiveness, and insightful interpretation of the novel impressed the judges and brought honour to our school.
