PolyU Igniting Social Innovation Competition 2025

6Ma Cheng Chor Kiu, 5D Ho Ka Man, 5Ma Ke Shulan, and 5Ma Huang Ka Wai participated in the PolyU Igniting Social Innovation Competition 2025, becoming finalists and receiving certificates of achievement. Cheng Chor Kiu was recognized as the best presenter. The awards were presented by Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, president of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Dr. Choi Yuk-Lin, secretary of education.

Organized by the APSS of PolyU, the competition aims to engage secondary school students in Hong Kong and inspire interest in applied social sciences. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach and cutting-edge technology, including AI and 360-degree cameras, the competition raises awareness of pressing social issues related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as responsible consumption and good health. Participants are encouraged to propose creative solutions to these challenges. Our students developed a pair of glasses designed to assist visually impaired individuals, showcasing their innovative approach to social issues.
